 WWW: An excellent, in-depth answer for Q2 on media language showing a clear understanding of the Tatler audience and how media language is used to target that audience. Similarly, your answer to Q3 is extremely impressive and makes specific reference to many aspects on the Reveal CSP cover. Keep up the good work!

EBI: For Q1, you need to answer the question – what is a convention? It is a typical feature – and then your magazine cover example is perfect. For Q2, try and add more connotation or deeper meaning to the conventions or design aspects you discuss. For example, the serif font of Tatler does indeed create a ‘deluxe’ feel but it also connotes tradition, importance, formality and trust. Combined with the pink colour scheme, it creates a connotation of tradition and importance combined with youthfulness, femininity and fun. Finally, in Q3 on representation you ideally need to discuss stereotypes – does Reveal reinforce or subvert the stereotypes of women and celebrities we usually see in the media? You’ve largely done this with your positive/negative approach but try and use those key words in future.

LR: Create a new blogpost called ‘Magazines feedback and learner response’. Copy and paste this feedback into the blogpost and write THREE things you will revise or practice for the Magazines topic before your next exam or assessment.
