Statement of Intent

 I plan to create the last two minutes for a season finally produced by myself, this TV drama will be called ‘Purple Hyacinth’ as this flower symbolises peace and sorrow and will also play a big part in revealing the characters actions. This is a science fiction show about a character named Queen Sackik an alien that has inhabited Earth who ends up befriending the protagonist Kaina. However, the vigorous female protagonist has sworn to kill every Sackik soldier that has infiltrated Earth leaving their friendship to be a long and rough journey.

I intend to meet the brief by having two locations for the two minute ending that includes two characters who will be introduced as Queen Sackik and Kaina. Diegetic sound will be perceived through each scene in order to make it more realistic for the audience. Furthermore, non-diegetic sound will also be detected as it will reinforce the genre of science fiction as well as making the setting appear more intense. There will be a range of camera shots, the main ones that will be included are wide shots to reveal the background and actions of the characters, extreme close up that communicates the emotions projected by the characters and details on important objects, finally, over the shoulder to display both characters however only presenting the protagonists appearance to include mystery. The narrative resolution will be shown at the end of the two minutes where Kaina accepts Queen Sackik as a friend displaying the character development. Props character theory will be used to identify the protagonist Kaina and the antagonist Queen Sackik who the audience perceive as to also becoming the protagonist. These two characters will challenge typical stereotypes of women being seen as frail as they are written to appear strong and influential who are capable of enduring difficult situations by defending themselves.

 My target audience will be older teenagers and young adults coming from a working class family while enjoying TV genres that combine both science fiction and fantasy. They will be easily attracted to action and drama as well as appreciate the sensation of suspense scenes.
